Lipton owned tea brand PG Tips had recently relaunched with a completely new look and blend. This rebrand also incorporated a multi-million-pound marketing campaign (the biggest ever media spend in the tea category at the time). At the centre of the nationwide campaign was ‘Rock Solid’; a film featuring Top Boy’s Ashley Walters.
PG Tips approached us to help them fulfil their limited-edition ‘Rock-Solid’ mug (that features in the TV adverts) through TikTok Shop and the Meta platform.
We integrated our OMS system with the PG Tips TikTok Shop and created a Shopify basket that linked to Meta. This enabled customers to place orders via the social commerce platforms for TikTok, Facebook and Instagram.
Customers were able to purchase the exclusive mug with their choice of three varieties of tea that we packed and sent out to their home address.
In addition to the storage of goods and fulfilment of orders, we also provided a managed customer services solution for the tea brand.
As we were approaching campaign launch day, PG Tips were let down by their transit packaging supplier. We stepped in at the last minute to source appropriate packaging and branded ‘Rock Solid’ stickers to apply to all boxes.
A ‘Rock Solid’ campaign! Despite being up against a tight deadline, we achieved the solution within the desired timeframe allowing for a great social commerce experience for PG Tips customers.
