Hairgain, a brand known for its hair care products, approached us with a unique request for a stool design that would align with the look and feel of their Dry Shampoo product. The stool was intended for use at trade shows and exhibitions, providing a comfortable seating solution for individuals undergoing a scalp analysis.

The challenge was to create a stool that not only reflected the product’s branding and visual identity but also adhered to ergonomic standards, ensuring comfort and support for users. Additionally, the design required a removable cushion that could be easily washed to maintain hygiene standards in public spaces.

SOLUTION

Our design team focused on ensuring that the stool would meet both functional and visual requirements. After discussions with the client, we outlined the following key objectives:Hairgain stool

  • Brand Alignment: The stool needed to reflect the Hairgain Dry Shampoo product’s branding to reinforce the product’s identity in a show environment.
  • Comfort and Ergonomics: To ensure users would be comfortable while sitting for a scalp analysis, we adhered to recommended stool dimensions and specifications that provide the required posture and support.
  • Durability and Hygiene: Given the public setting and repeated use, durability was a key consideration. PVC was chosen as the primary material due to its robust nature, easy maintenance, and ability to withstand wear and tear. Additionally, we selected a PVC colour that closely matched the Hairgain brand palette.
  • Removable Cushion: The cushion needed to be removable and washable to meet hygiene requirements. We designed a cushion that could be easily detached and cleaned, ensuring practicality during events. A significant challenge arose with applying the branding to the PVC material. To preserve the integrity of the design and branding, we needed to figure out the best method for applying the DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing process onto the PVC. Careful consideration was given to address any potential issues related to heat and material sensitivity.

RESULTS

The final stool exceeded all of Hairgain’s requirements. The stool was not only visually aligned with their brand but also functional, with its ergonomic structure ensuring user comfort during long periods of use. The removable and washable cushion, made it a practical choice for high-traffic exhibition settings.

The final product was a perfect blend of form and function. The stool branding turned out vibrant and durable, with the colour matching the Hairgain Dry Shampoo branding perfectly. The client was extremely pleased with the outcome, praising the stool for both its visual appeal and practical design. It was a perfect fit for their trade show needs, drawing attention to their stand and providing a talking point for customers!
