Our objective

Having never tapped into personalisation before, Scottish whisky brand Wolfie’s were unaware of just how impactful a personalised product could be – not only on their commercial performance, but on the customer experience too.

With proven experience in the spirits sector, we knew this was a project we could support end-to-end, so we set out to introduce Wolfie’s to the true potential of personalisation.

Our approach

Wolfie’s isn’t a traditional whisky brand. Inspired by the rock star lifestyle of its co-founder Rod Stewart, it unapologetically breaks the rules of Scotch.

So the gifting launch had to be a bit different.

We moved away from bottle label personalisation and created a gifting experience to live on long after the whisky was gone.

Our experts got to work, developing a solution that allowed us to print directly onto the Wolfie’s Flight Case using our state-of-the-art equipment – transforming it into a keepsake as well as a gift.

But that was just the start. The Wolfie’s team had ambition to go further, channelling their rock’n’roll attitude into a personalisation experience unlike anything else on the market.

How? Well, it’s simple. Let customers say whatever the f*** they want.

With no limits on language and expletives, they let customers lean into the tongue-in-cheek messaging that brands usually steer clear of. And it worked.

Project outcome

Key stats:

  • Personalised Wolfie’s flight cases sold out within a month of launching.

The Christmas gifting season was approaching, and speed was critical. But our experts turned it around and activation was complete in time to capitalise on the Q4 key gifting periods.

We launched with a limited edition run to test and learn over the festive season, but it didn’t take long for demand to take off.

Within the four weeks, the Flight Cases completely sold out. So, we wasted no time scaling stock to match demand and, you guessed it, sold out again.

F***ing incredible. Or the Wolfie’s fans certainly thought so…
